In the summer of 1974 I attended the Ansel Adams workshop in Yosemite. I don’t remember how long it was but it seemed to go on forever. It was very good and I learned a lot. Mostly I learned what kind of pictures I didn’t want to take.Towards the end of the course there was a "meet the guru" photo op, where everyone got to pose ALL BY HIM(HER)SELF WITH ANSEL! Poor Ansel, there must have been nearly a hundred people in that workshop! At first I didn’t want to do it, it was a bit like an audience with the Pope and I felt a bit foolish. But then I thought "oh, what the hell…..". After I got my camera back I turned and saw Ansel rushing away and snapped this picture. This one I printed, but not the one with me in it.
